Dorothea Seel is internationally acclaimed for her artistry on historical flutes, her refined sense of style, and her commitment to revealing the richness of both celebrated and rediscovered repertoire. As a soloist, chamber musician, and artistic director, she creates concert experiences that unite expressive depth, historical awareness, and artistic individuality.

Teaching & Education

Mozarteum University / Department Innsbruck

Dorothea Seel teaches at the University Mozarteum Salzburg / Innsbruck in the fields of ornamentation, introduction to early music, historical performance practice, and historical and new perspectives. Her teaching combines artistic practice, stylistic awareness, and historically informed interpretation.

This training offers a refined and practice-oriented approach to the world of the Baroque. Drawing on selected examples, it shows how Baroque stylistic elements can be taught in a way that is engaging, clear, and artistically nuanced.

Visual Art

Alongside her musical work, Dorothea Seel also develops a visual artistic language in painting, exploring colour, atmosphere, and gesture as parallel forms of expression. Her visual work opens a second artistic space that resonates closely with her musical imagination.

Five elegant sonatas by the Mozart contemporary Johann Andreas Amon - performed on period instruments in a historically informed style.
